12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:12-14
Verse MEMORY: Esther 4:12-14
During these weeks students will simply be working on memorizing the verses they have previously explained. Please listen and sign off after they have said the verse with at least 95% accuracy.
WHAT WILL BE ASSIGNED:
WEEK 1 & 3: Explanation
1. The first 2 weeks will be the explanation of a verse that we will have studied and diagrammed together. Please sign off online that they have broken the verse down into "bite size" pieces and put the them into a two column chart. They will then show (using the right side of the chart) observations and thoughts that we (and they) have had concerning the parts of the verse.
2. They will then summarize for you the basic context and meaning of the verse and then attempt to apply to life today. Obviously, there explanations will not be perfect or even 100% accurate, but remember this is a process. The best thing you can do as a parent is to ask good questions about what they are showing you and guide them toward good practice.
WEEK 2 & 4: Memorization
1. During these weeks students will simply be working on memorizing the verses they have previously explained. Please listen and sign off after they have said the verse with at least 90% accuracy.
2. Please feel free to question your child about the meaning of the verse during this time to help review and further concrete the ideas in their long term memory.
